International start-ups compete at Texas A&M’s first Construction Innovation Competition
Texas A&M Innovation and the College of Architecture launched the inaugural Construction Innovation Competition on September 12, 2024, at Cavalry Court, bringing together international start-ups from the architecture-engineering-construction (AEC) industry to compete for prize money. The event, held in partnership with the Society for Construction Solutions (SCS), celebrated innovation, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving within the industry.
Speeches by Texas A&M Innovation’s Pete O'Neill and College of Architecture Interim Dean Patrick Suermann emphasized the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem at the university. The competition featured cutting-edge solutions, including a keynote from Mark Pivac, co-founder of FBR, who presented his company's automated bricklaying technology.
