At Texas A&M University, Beatriz Watanabe, a second-year Master of Landscape Architecture student, is driven by a profound desire to create spaces that nurture well-being. Her vision extends beyond the aesthetics, focusing on designing healing environments that reconnect people with nature, particularly within healthcare settings.
“After graduation, I plan to work with healthcare facilities focusing on creating healing environments where people can feel welcome and reconnected with nature,” Beatriz said. “I want to leverage landscape architecture as a tool for positive change.”
Vicente Mercado ’27, talks about his experience at the recent career fair and how it helped him connect with potential employers, gain valuable insights, and navigate career opportunities.

Christian Martinez, a dedicated second-year Master of Architecture student at Texas A&M University, is poised to make a significant impact on the field of educational architecture. With a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the College of Architecture already under his belt, he will soon launch into the industry to earn his architectural license.
“Following graduation, I will begin pursuing architectural licensure while working at a firm specializing in higher educational facilities in addition to K-12 schools in the Dallas/Plano area,” Martinez said. “I hope to design facilities that are not only beneficial to, but spark intrigue and imagination from the occupant. Additionally, setting the precedent of conversation-worthy architecture that challenges the notion of what learning environments can be.”
