How to Apply
Whether you’re a high school senior, attending another institution or a college graduate, applying to university programs can be stressful. We’re here to help! Below is a guide for applying to any of our undergraduate or graduate programs as an in-state, out-of-state or international student. See the admission catalog for information about prospective student centers and important application deadlines.
Incoming Freshmen Applicants
Incoming freshmen must submit their application for the fall semester through ApplyTexas or the Coalition by December 1. The application you choose will not affect your admission decision. All other required documents will be accepted through December 15.
The application deadline to apply to the Higher Education Center at McAllen has been extended to March 1. Students applying to the HECM may submit the Coalition Application for admission consideration.
For information about applying as an international student, see our international student guide.
For more information about undergraduate admissions, view the freshmen Office of Admissions guide and our undergraduate admissions guide.
Undergraduate Transfer Applicants
Applicants who previously attended another college or university must submit their application through ApplyTexas or the Coalition. The application and required documents for the spring semester are due October 15. The application for the summer and fall semesters are due March 1.
Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA on a minimum of 24 hours of graded, transferable coursework to be considered for transfer admission. For more information about transfer admissions, view the transfer Office of Admissions checklist and our transfer admissions FAQs.
Change of Major Applicants
Current undergraduate students at Texas A&M University may apply to change their major to one within the School of Architecture. To change your major, you must receive approval from the academic college, department, or major you wish to transfer into. For more details, see our change of major into the School of Architecture guide.
All applicants for our graduate programs apply online through Texas A&M GradCas. Current Texas A&M undergraduates should apply to participating graduate programs via the Aggie Priority application, which provides an expedited application process.
Texas A&M undergraduates graduating in August 2022, December 2022, and May 2023 are encouraged to apply as early as possible via the Aggie Priority application.
Each graduate program in the School of Architecture has unique requirements for its admissions process. Our graduate admissions guide provides an overview of program offerings and basic deadlines.
