NSC Season Underway as Class of 2029 Joins Aggieland
Each summer, thousands of incoming students attend a Texas A&M New Student Conference (NSC), a two-day orientation that helps new Aggies and their families prepare for college life.
This year, the College of Architecture is welcoming 322 new students across its five undergraduate programs: architecture, construction science, urban and regional planning, landscape architecture and university studies.
On Day 1, students learn about campus life, traditions and the values that define the Aggie community. By Day 2, students meet with their college leaders to focus on academics and what it means to be an Aggie in their major and college.
Students met with their academic advisors to help them understand their degree path and register for fall courses. They also learned about upcoming events to get involved during their first semester.
Incoming construction science student Kaden Tanner ’29, a first-generation Aggie, attended his session with his father, Michael. “You come in and sit down in the auditorium, and I mean, it’s just energy filled,” Tanner said. “It’s definitely a good welcoming into college.”
Day 2 marked Tanner’s first time exploring the Langford Architecture complex. He said he’s looking forward to football season and cruising around campus on his scooter.
As Tanner and the class of 2029 get settled, NSC sessions continue throughout the summer to prepare the college’s newest Aggies for a strong start this fall.
