Howdy!

Welcome to the Texas A&M University College of Architecture. I am honored to serve this community and continually impressed by our students’ curiosity, work ethic and genuine desire to make a difference.

Our college is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the nation dedicated to the built environment. We bring together more than 3,000 students across three departments: architecture, construction science and landscape architecture & urban planning. More than 250 faculty and staff support our students as they discover paths that align with their interests and strengths.

For more than a century, we have prepared professionals to shape the places where life unfolds. The homes and workplaces we rely on, the streets and parks that connect our daily lives and the schools that support healthy, resilient communities all have one thing in common: they are part of the built environment.

Our college’s work is significant because it affects so many aspects of our daily lives. Each year, our students and faculty turn our social responsibility into action through award-winning design work, innovative research and engaged community partnerships that address real needs across Texas and beyond.

Today, change is happening faster than ever. Communities face urgent challenges about growth, climate, housing, health and safety. These issues cannot be solved by a single discipline. That is why we are united under one academic home with a shared mission — to plan, design and build a better world.

Across our programs, planners examine how land use, policy and infrastructure to help our world grow responsibly. Designers shape buildings and spaces that are functional, beautiful and supportive of a healthy life. Builders manage the process of making those visions a reality through safe, innovative project delivery. And together, we are dedicated to creating places that strengthen communities today and remain resilient for the future.

I invite you to explore our degrees and career pathways, visit our campus and learn more about what it means to be an Aggie in the College of Architecture.

Warmly,

Dean Lingqian Ivy Hu
