(Current High School/GED Students)
Freshman applicants are students who have applied or will apply to join Texas A&M University and have no previous college credit or whose only college credit was received prior to high school graduation (dual-credit/AP/IB).
Beginning fall 2013, freshman students may apply directly into University Studies – Global Arts, Planning, Design & Construction (USAR). You will be required to submit additional requirements (extra essay) when you apply, but you should be provided with those requirements when you submit your application. The USAR degree requires 2 minors, but those will be officially determined at your New Student Conference.
In addition to the extra essay, we highly encourage applicants to utilize Essay Topic C in the Texas Common Application to discuss your interest in University Studies – Global Arts, Planning, Design & Construction (USAR). In the essay, discuss what 2 minors you would like to pursue, your intended career path, how this major will help you, etc.
You must submit your application to Texas A&M University through the TAMU Office of Admissions. They handle the receiving and processing of all application materials. All questions concerning application deadlines, application requirements, and if your application materials have been received need to be directed to the Office of Admissions.
