Excellence in Diversity Award

The College of Architecture Diversity Council sponsors the Excellence in Diversity Award to recognize and honor the efforts of students and staff that strive to promote understanding and appreciation of diversity in their academic studies and professional work.

The Excellence in Diversity Awards are annually allocated to undergraduate and graduate students in all departments and academic programs, as well as individuals and teams in all administrative offices in the College of Architecture. Awards are $300 for students and staff winners (or to be split among the winning team).

Defining Diversity

In the College of Architecture, the term “diversity” encompasses the full spectrum of characteristics of our community including (but not limited to) ethnic background, religious beliefs, age, political beliefs, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, physical ability and gender. We believe that a diverse college is one that embraces the richness of this variety and provides an environment in which each individual is respected and celebrated.
