Past Celebrations

Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner

Each Thanksgiving season, the Diversity Council hosts a dinner and encourages each guest to bring a dish that represents the place they call home -- whether that is Japan, Peru, or Navasota, Texas! We are able to share a meal and a little bit of our own personal heritage. It’s a great time to get acquainted and try new food!

Diversity Greeting Cards

In November 2018, the Graduate and Professional Student Council (GPSC) brought this idea to the Diversity Council and we proudly sponsored this event. At the Diversity Greeting Cards event, any member of the Texas A&M University is welcome to color or draw a card, and we will provide the postage to help you send it to your friends and family, anywhere in the world!

In November 2019, the College of Architecture Diversity Council adopted this brilliant idea and looks forward to continuing this event every holiday season. During the 2019 event, 160+ students and campus community members visited our table throughout the 9-day period. Cards went to many different towns in Texas, 20+ states in the U.S., and 10+ countries around the world!

Persian New Year

In spring 2019, a group of Iranian students in the College of Architecture put together a Persian New Year celebration on the 2nd floor atrium of Langford A.

All cultural celebrations are open to everyone! If you would like to organize a new year or festival celebration in the College of Architecture, please contact the Diversity Council. We would love to support your idea!

Chinese New Year

In January 2020, Chinese students in the College of Architecture put together a Chinese New Year potluck dinner in the Adams Presentation Room behind Wright Gallery in Langford A.

All cultural celebrations are open to everyone! If you would like to organize a new year or festival celebration in the College of Architecture, please contact the Diversity Council. We would love to support your idea!
