Biography

As managing principal, Tushar strategically leverages EYP’s business development, operations and design teams to optimize performance across all aspects of the regional business. He strives to grow the Houston office and collaborate with local staff to enhance the firm’s presence among Texas health systems, universities, the architectural and engineering industry and community.

Tushar is also an award-winning Designer specializing in healthcare. He has committed his design talent and passion toward creating a new generation of health facilities— empathetic, life-enhancing environments. Tushar uses the power of design to transform healthcare environments. Throughout the design process, he works closely with his clients and teammates to create meaningful dialogue about architectural possibilities and impact. An inspiring leader, he influences the profession nationally, shaping the discourse on design for health.

He joined the firm in 2000 as a Tradewell Fellow, a national level fellowship offered by EYP in healthcare design and planning. For his personal commitment and design leadership, EYP elevated him to firm Principal in 2006 and to Senior Principal in 2018. He was recognized in Building Design + Construction Magazine 40 under 40, as well as Houston Business Journal 40 Under 40. He was elevated to the American Institute of Architects (AIA) College of Fellows in 2019.

Tushar is deeply committed to positively influencing and encouraging the next generation of healthcare architects through his leadership in the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH), his lectures at schools of architecture and EYP’s highly regarded Tradewell Fellowship program. Tushar is currently serving as Past President on the board of directors for the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health.
